I had pet turtles as a kid. I think I still like them although I don't have them as pets any more. The biggest obstacle to having turtles for pets is that they live a long time. And if given enough room, they can grow to be quite large. Read the rest of this entry »

Read the rest of this entry » Lizards are annoyingly skittish when you want to take a picture of them. They're so skittish that 3 out of my 5 pictures are from a zoo. The first lizard picture is from a park in the Florida Keys. The second picture is from the Bronx Zoo. The next two are from the San Diego Zoo. The final lizard picture is from a hike up Breakneck Ridge in New York. Seemed like a reasonable expectation to me. Read the rest of this entry » Frogs abound in the parks I frequent. They're even on some corporate campuses that are open to the public that I visit. Frogs are fairly docile creatures which make them easy subjects for photographs. The hardest part is getting the camera down to their level for a natural looking shot. Read the rest of this entry » Snakes bother a lot of people, but I like them. Undoubtedly it's because of the way they move and their lack of legs. I suppose the forked tongue doesn't help either.
